Standing, she is carrying an open book in her left hand, one palm leaf and pilgrim’s staff in right hand as well as shoulder hobo bag; eyes are closed for blindness symbol; she is attired in long dress and coat with lapels on front.

Saint Syra was a virgin saint from Champagne; to escape form marriage she asked God to make her blind and regain her sight during a pilgrimage to Rilly, close to Arcis-sur-Aube (Aube).
