Two mini-mosaics, 19th Century


Two round mini-mosaics, one representing doves drinking from a coupe, the other representing two doves fighting over a grape on a column.
After Roman mosaics discovered in the Hadrien's Villa during the 1737 excavations and now in the collections of the Capitoline Museum.

19th Century.

Gilded bronze frames with rows of beads.

Diameter: 8 cm (3 in.).
