FRENCH SCHOOL, 18th Century, Follower of Nicolas Lancret

Gallant Scene
Time for Chocolate
Backgammon Game

Oils on canvas with curvy shaped upper parts

Our paintings are adaptions of engravings of compositions by Nicolas Lancret for the The Four Times of Day: The Morning and Midday (coppers, 29 x 37 cm [11-1/3 x 14-1/2 in.], National Gallery, London, inv. 5867 and 5868)
They were engraved inverted by Nicolas de Larmessin.

Condition report : The three canvases are buckling from the stretcher, one is notably warped (Backgammon Game) and without a doubt resulting from water. This one also has a visible small vertical tear.
